These blocks do two jobs that are usually bought separately. Stacked, they behave like any construction set. Shaken, each produces its own distinct sound, and the set becomes a listening activity.

The matching game is the obvious use and a genuinely good one: find the two that sound the same, without looking. Discriminating between similar sounds by ear alone is real auditory processing work, and it is the same skill children need to tell similar speech sounds apart.
