Melissa & Doug was founded in 1988 by Melissa and Doug Bernstein and has grown from a garage operation into one of the best-known names in early childhood play, with more than 5,000 products designed at its Wilton, Connecticut headquarters. The range is deliberately screen-free: classic wooden puzzles and shape sorters, pretend-play food, kitchens and tool benches, arts and crafts sets and plush. Built to be handed down rather than replaced, the brand became part of Spin Master in January 2024.
