Description

Comparison is easier when it needs only one object. With separate mirrors a child has to hold two things and remember what the first one did; with a double-sided mirror they flip their wrist and see the difference immediately.

That immediacy is what makes the concept land. Same room, same face, same distance — only the surface has changed, so the surface must be what causes the difference. It is a controlled experiment that a five-year-old can run without being taught what a controlled experiment is.

Whichever curved face it carries, a concave mirror behaves differently from a flat one at distance — and mirrors do a second job in early-years rooms that has nothing to do with physics. Looking at your own face is how young children develop self-recognition and, later, how they learn to name expressions — happy, cross, surprised. Staff use a hand mirror in emotional-literacy work as much as in science.

Rigid-backed reflective surfaces with a protective rim, sized for one-handed holding.

  • Two different reflective surfaces on one object
  • Flip to compare — a controlled experiment a five-year-old can run
  • Doubles as an emotional-literacy tool for naming expressions
  • Rigid backing with protective rim; one-handed hold
  • Recommended ages 3–9

Part of the hand-held optics range. For KG science, nursery self-awareness work and emotions topics.

About Wisdom
Wisdom Educational Products was established in 1993 and is one of China's largest specialist manufacturers of early-years and kindergarten equipment. Operating from Shanghai with a 80,000 m² production base, an international logistics centre, eight branches and more than 500 staff, it develops and manufactures its own range rather than reselling — over 4,500 SKUs spanning indoor classroom furniture, teaching aids, outdoor play equipment and professional childcare products. Design is done with educators and with consultant designers from the United States, Australia, France and the United Kingdom. The company holds more than 960 national patents and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, and supplies over 5,000 kindergartens across more than 40 countries, with branches in the United States and Germany.
