Building blocks on the floor have one recurring failure: someone walks through them. An hour of construction ends under a foot, and the child who built it learns that their work is not safe.

Raising the build onto a dedicated table fixes that. At 120 × 92.4 cm the surface is genuinely large — three or four children build simultaneously, and a structure can spread rather than being forced upward until it topples.

The 50.4 cm height is chosen for standing play. Children build at chest level, which gives them a horizontal view along the structure rather than the plan view they get from above on a floor mat; they see the elevation they are actually making.

The table is supplied without trays. Most settings already own storage tubs for their block collection and would rather keep using them than buy into a tray format they did not choose.
