Description

Children learn letter shapes with their arms before they learn them with their fingers. Tracing a metre-high letter on a wall uses the shoulder and elbow, and that large movement is how the shape is committed to memory — the fine control needed to write it small comes afterwards.

A vertical surface adds something a table cannot. Writing on a wall keeps the wrist extended and the shoulder engaged, which occupational therapists actively recommend for children developing handwriting, and it is far easier to arrange outdoors than indoors.

The chalk surface means children write the letters themselves rather than only looking at them, and the printed alphabet stays as a permanent reference underneath for checking a shape they are unsure of.

High-contrast black and white keeps the letterforms crisp and holds up under direct sun better than colour printing.

At 100 × 100 × 0.3 cm it mounts on a wall or fence at child height.

  • Whole-arm letter formation — how shapes are actually learned
  • Vertical surface supports the wrist position that precedes handwriting
  • Permanent printed alphabet stays as a reference to check against
  • 100 × 100 × 0.3 cm; wall or fence mounted
  • Recommended ages 4–7

Part of the outdoor chalkboard range. For KG outdoor literacy and nursery mark-making areas.

Operating from Shanghai with a 80,000 m² production base, an international logistics centre, eight branches and more than 500 staff, it develops and manufactures its own range rather than reselling — over 4,500 SKUs spanning indoor classroom furniture, teaching aids, outdoor play equipment and professional childcare products. Design is done with educators and with consultant designers from the United States, Australia, France and the United Kingdom. The company holds more than 960 national patents and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, and supplies over 5,000 kindergartens across more than 40 countries, with branches in the United States and Germany.
