Description

Most science experiments for kids in the early years die at lunchtime, when the table it was set up on has to be cleared for eating. A dedicated observation table removes that pressure: a germinating bean, a snail, a set of rocks under a magnifier can stay undisturbed for a fortnight and be revisited daily.

That continuity is what turns an activity into an investigation. Children who look at the same thing on Monday and again on Friday notice change; children who see it once notice novelty.

The surface is 80 × 80 cm and sealed against water and soil — the two things that arrive with any real specimen. At 49 cm children work standing at close range or seated on low chairs, with eyes near the level of whatever is being observed rather than looking down from above.

Solid wood construction with rounded corners and a stable, wide-set base that resists the leaning weight of three children crowding one side.

  • Dedicated surface — investigations stay set up between sessions
  • 80 × 80 cm sealed top, resistant to water and soil
  • 49 cm height brings eyes level with the specimen
  • Solid wood, stable wide base, rounded corners
  • Recommended ages 3–8

For nursery discovery areas, KG science corners and primary investigation zones.
