Story Time Finger Puppet Set 10 cm | Small Puppets for Circle Time

The practical advantage of finger puppets over hand puppets is arithmetic: one adult has ten fingers and therefore ten possible characters, where hand puppets allow two.

That changes what a storyteller can do. A five-character story can be told by one person, with characters entering and leaving by a curl of the finger, and no pause to swap puppets while the group’s attention drains away.

At 10 cm tall with 5 cm arms these are scaled to fit a child’s finger as well as an adult’s, so the whole group can hold a character during a retelling — which is when children move from watching a story to owning it.

The small size is also the storage advantage. A full cast lives in a pocket or a small box, and a set travels between rooms without a trolley.
